Ayurveda is the Sister Science of Yoga, both Yoga and Ayurveda are considered complementary Vedic systems, from ancient India and come from Sankhya philosophy. They both aim to eradicate pain and suffering.
Ayurveda is mainly concerned in preventing and treating various Physical illnesses while Yoga texts such as the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Yoga Sutras, focus on providing practices Asanas ("Postures") and Pranayama ("Breathwork"), to attain Liberation (Moksha or Kaivalya) and realize the eternal, true Self by achieving Union with the Universal Consciousness.
